AIMUP Meeting Tonight

"Do come along to the open evening about the Uplift at Innerleithen for bikers, walkers and disabled. It's tonight at the Innerleithen Memorial Hall between 5 and 8pm.

There are videos of the equipment, plans of the base village, car parking etc. This will become a great facility for the people of Tweeddale and beyond, providing a restaurant, biker facilities, retail at the base and a cafe plus walks onto the Southern Upland at the top of the hill. This will open up the great views and countryside access to walkers, disabled as well as bikers. At least 100 local jobs could be created by this facility. Already we've had some great new ideas from the 300 attendees at Sunday's event.

Members of the AIMUp group will be there to answer your questions.

We'd like your support and attendance so we can demonstrate to planners, Scottish Borders Council and funders that there is genuine community support for this project. Bring your family as well."

Welcome to Innerleithen the eighth largest settlement in the Scottish Borders.

The Innerleithen Online web site has been created by Innerleithen and District Community Council to provide information about this beautiful area of southern Scotland.

This area lies within the Tweed Valley and is an excellent leisure centre for golf, fishing, mountain biking and walking. The Southern Upland Way is also within easy reach.

There is a busy events calendar throughout the year which includes musical events, festivals and sporting pursuits, so there are lots to see and do. We also have an amazing array of local organisations which cater for a wide variety of interests and who welcome new members.
