Bin the Poo - Anti dog fouling campaign
This area lies within the Tweed Valley and is an excellent leisure centre for golf, fishing, mountain biking and walking. The Southern Upland Way is also within easy reach.
There is a busy events calendar throughout the year which includes musical events, festivals and sporting pursuits, so there are lots to see and do. We also have an amazing array of local organisations which cater for a wide variety of interests and who welcome new members.
Dogs
Innerleithen also welcomes responsible dog owners with many dog-friendly places to stay or visit and has initiated a scheme to provide poo-bags throughout the area to help combat unnecessary dog fowling. Local resident Jennifer Allerhand runs Cosaig Self Catering and has put together a Dog's Own Guide (see below) which highlights many places where dogs and their owners can feel welcome .

BIN THE POO CAMPAIGN
We're creating a map to help with analysing the Pick-Up-The-Poo campaign and we would be interested in your input regarding what we should measure, and so on. Here's some ideas
1. Discarded poos (Sad Poos)
2. Properly deposited poops (Happy Poos)
3. Bin locations
We're thinking that if residents could report 1 and 2 by emailing innerscc@gmail.com with the location and a pic, we could record this information on the map to help us highlight troublespots.
